‘The NANUM Volunteer Corps’ of Siemens Korea are preparing daily necessities for around 230 households at Seodaemun Community Center

SEOUL--(뉴스와이어)--A global powerhouse in electrical engineering and electronics Siemens Korea announced on May 31 that the company will carry out the ‘Delivery of Daily Necessities’ citizenship program with Seodaemun Community Center in a non-contact format sequentially until early June. For the purpose of providing daily necessities worth KRW 10 million to around 230 households, a joint donation was made among Siemens Ltd. Seoul, Siemens Healthineers, and Siemens Energy.

With the company’s ‘The NANUM Volunteer Corps’, Siemens Korea has conducted various volunteer activities every year since 2013, including delivering charcoal briquettes, cleaning the local environment, and serving free meals for needy neighborhoods. ‘The NANUM Volunteer Corps’ has also conducted the ‘Delivery of Daily Necessities’ campaign since 2017, participating in the whole process from packing to delivering the aid kits. This year, however, for the first time in its history, the program will be conducted in a contactless way without on-site participation of employees to prevent the spread of COVID-19. The kits containing precooked instant rice, side dishes, ready-to-cook food, and personal sanitation products such as alcohol tissues will be delivered to around 230 underprivileged households including the elderly living alone.

Mr. ChewKong Lum, President and CEO of Siemens Korea, said, “To support neighbors left unattended in the lingering coronavirus pandemic, we decided to carry out a non-contact volunteer activity while complying with the health and safety regulations. Siemens Korea will continue to fulfill social responsibilities as a responsible company growing together with our local community.”
